Milton Suburb Overview
Milton is an inner-suburb situated 2km west of Brisbane’s Central Business District. It has a mixture of light industry, retail, commercial and multiple occupancy residences. It touches Brisbane River down south, by north it shares a boundary with Paddington, Auchenflower, and Petrie Terrace. Europeans started development within this area during 1840, when majority of the lands were used as farms. Ambrose Eldridge back then named his farm after John Milton the poet and the farm’s name later on was used for the suburb. It covers an area of 1.2 square kilometres.
