Stafford Suburb Overview
Originally called Happy Valley, Stafford is a residential suburb about 8km north of Brisbane’s Central Business District. Stafford was predominantly a rural area in the 1800s with dairy cows and tanneries littering the landscape. As employment grew, most heavy industry was closed to make space for post-war housing around the 1940s. Stafford lies along the Kedron Brook banks and is now home to many cool cafes and fitness studios.
