In recent years, the Mount Gravatt area has grown a lot, especially with the new developments and high representation of high-rise residential buildings to accommodate the influx of residents. As at the 2021 Census, Mount Gravatt had a population of 3,733 people of whom 51.7% were female and 48.3% male. The median age of the Mount Gravatt population was 36 years, 2 years below the national median of 38. The presence of universities in the area contributes to the suburb’s disproportionately large student population. Around 38% of the population is under the age of 34; many of these young adults are students at nearby Griffith University. 67.9% of people living in Mount Gravatt were born in Australia. By car, Mount Gravatt is well-connected to the rest of Brisbane because to the proximity of the Pacific and Gateway Motorways. By bus, it is conveniently accessible from the Mount Gravatt Busway on the South-East Busway.

Mount Gravatt does not have its own train station, but the Holland Park West neighbourhood has one, and it connects to the Beenleigh and Gold Coast lines. In addition, the Mount Gravatt Busway Station provides convenient access to the rest of Brisbane’s train stations.
