Murarrie (formerly Mooraree) is an eastern riverside suburb in the city of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Queensport is a vibrant neighbourhood nestled in the heart of Murarrie. Gibson Island is a neighbourhood within Murarrie and, despite its name, is no longer an island. Murarrie is located between the Brisbane River to the north and Bulimba Creek to the east and south. Bulimba Creek was historically known as Doughboy Creek or Doboy Creek. Wynnum Road, Creek Road, the Cleveland railway line, Barrack Road, Lytton Road, and Colmslie Road (previously known as Chemical Works Road) are its boundaries to the south-west and west, and it extends north to the river. The Gateway Highway passes through the suburb. It enters from the south-east (Tingalpa) and exits over the river to Eagle Farm via the Sir Leo Hielscher Bridges (previously known as the Gateway Bridge). Murarrie railway station is located on the Cleveland railway line of the Queensland Rail City network. Murarrie offers a harmonious blend of residential and industrial areas. Brisbane's two newspapers, The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail, are published at News Corporation's printing facility in Murarrie.
