Parkinson is an outer suburb in Brisbane, located 23km south of Brisbane GPO. It was formally named in 1972 after Henry Parkinson (a railway engineer) and is spread across an area of 8.2 square kilometer. Parkinson’s residential settlement began in the 1990s. The suburb borders the city of Logan and is surrounded by Hillcrest, Regents Park, Browns Plains, Drewvale, Calamvale, Algester, Pallara, and Larapinta.
