Sunnybank is a leafy suburb within Brisbane. It held a wide array of farms until the 20th century, when industrialization took place of the farms. General Motors Holden established a car manufacturing plant which was a major source of employment in the area. By 1938 The Oasis opened, which contained a fantastic lush of gardens, swimming pools and a mini zoo and lasted till 1982. The Commonwealth Games taking place in Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre paved the way for developers to develop it into the high density residential and commercial giant it is today.
